Njoy Indoor Play will officially open on Saturday in the Fountain Square shopping center on Frederica Street. The new indoor play facility features a wide array of entertainment options that will cater to children of all ages.
Owner Holi-wood McKenzie developed the idea after searching for ways to entertain her grandchildren and other youth in the Owensboro area.
“I’ve always wanted to do things for the kids,” she said. “I wanted to come up with something for small kids because there’s not a lot out there for them. It’s not in my nature to leave anyone out though, so we have something for all ages.”
The facility features arcade games, ball pits, riding toys, basketball goals, trampolines, slides, and a giant Connect 4 game. They also have air hockey and foosball tables along with a confined toddler area for the little ones.
“You have to be mentally and physically prepared to do something like this, but it’s definitely worth it,” McKenzie said. “It’s nice to see the smiles on the kids’ faces, but it’s always tough when they leave because they never want to.”
Njoy also offers opportunities for individuals to reserve the facility for a private birthday party. In addition to full access to the facility and all of its offerings, guests will also have access to a party room with tables and chairs.
Njoy is located at 3333 Frederica St. Suite 8 in the building between Domino’s and Shogun Express.
The hours of operation will be 1-7:30 p.m. every day except Thursday. Admission is $10 for one hour, $25 for 2.5 hours, and $45 for an all-day pass.
Drinks, chips, candy, baby snacks, and more are available for purchase on site.
McKenzie is an Owensboro native that recently moved her mobile laundry service back to her hometown after a stint in Hopkinsville. She was adamant about having laundry machines in the new facility, so parents and chaperones alike can take care of their laundry needs while the kids play.
With safety at the forefront of their daily operations, Njoy regularly sanitizes the play areas while also offering masks and sanitizer to all of their patrons.
“I think this will be awesome for Owensboro,” McKenzie said. “I was born and raised in Owensboro and I’m excited to offer something fun for kids of all ages.”
