After temporarily closing due to a natural gas leak, the Owensboro Family YMCA will reopen today at 2 p.m. Officials said the natural gas leaks have been sealed. There will be no child care today, but evening classes are expected to take place.
According to a statement from YMCA officials:
The air temperature in the building is steadily climbing and has reached 65 degrees. The pool temperature is at 84 and the air temperature is 70 and climbing in the natatorium. We hope to be back to normal by 2 p.m. when we will reopen. There will be no childcare today, but evening classes are a go.
