Though it will be exclusively virtual, the Owensboro Museum of Science and History is hosting their annual Noon Year’s Eve party Thursday. The event will still feature science and history demonstrations, pre-packaged kits to make a party hat and noisemaker, and the traditional balloon drop at noon.

This year, the Museum is partnering with Prof G Entertainment Services to bring the community the online event, which will be from 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. It can be viewed on the Museum’s Facebook Page.

According to a Facebook post by the Museum, this year’s Noon Year’s Eve virtual event will have “a social media takeover by some surprise special guests” as well as live and pre-recorded science, history, and other demos.

There will also be an arts and crafts component. Using prepackaged materials provided by the Museum, anyone will be able to create a New Year’s party hat and a noisemaker.

Kits are available at the Museum on Wednesday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or from

1:30-4 p.m. Kits are free for members, while non-members can pick up bags for all their children for a $5 per family fee.
