
Charlesetta “Charlie” Conkright
Charlie Conkright, 94, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Heartford House in Owensboro surrounded by her family. Charlie was born in Daviess County on October 30, 1926 to the late Forrest and Mary Bertha Wathen and was married to the late John W. Conkright. Charlie was a charter member of Immaculate Catholic Church, an avid golfer, a member of the Lakewood Country Club where she was the 1st woman golfer to make a hole-in-one there, a member of Windridge Country Club, an excellent seamstress, a card player with friends and family in which her change pouch was always full, a wonderful mother to her children, and Mamaw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant son, William Anthony Conkright, her siblings; Mary Helen Roberts, Louise Gough, Austin Wathen, Bob Wathen, and Joanne Moore.
Those left to cherish her memory include son, David Conkright (Laura), son Chuck Conkright (Becky), daughter Vicki Bowen (Joe), all of Owensboro, KY, her Grandchildren (Mamaw’s Angels); Adam Bowen (Nicole), Joy Herbert (Scott), Nick Conkright (Tasha), Will Conkright (Taylor), Chris Conkright (Kelsea), Lindsey Conkright (Patrick Conley); 10 great-grandchildren; sister Celine Kenney; and sister-in-law’s Dorothy Wathen and Annetta Wathen.
A special thanks to her caregivers Becky, Donna, Joan, Rosemary, and Sandy for their love and care over the last two years. The family truly appreciates the staff of the Heartford House for their compassion shown to Charlie.
Visitation will be held at Immaculate Catholic Church from 10 a.m.-noon, Thursday, November 12, 2020 followed by a funeral mass at the church officiated by Father John Vaughn. A private burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

All who wish to honor and remember Charlie in person at the visitation or funeral are required to wear a mask or face covering while inside the church for the safety of all those in attendance.
