Thursday afternoon, Impact 100 Owensboro and Impact 100 Next Generation revealed their 2020 membership numbers.
A combined total of $236,800 will be awarded to local nonprofits later this year.
Of that amount, $226,000 will be awarded by Impact 100 in the form of two $100,000 grants and one $26,000 residual grant. Since their start 15 years ago, the women’s philanthropic organization has awarded grants totalling $3,350,000 to local nonprofits.
“This year has certainly been challenging, but even in the middle of COVID-19 and this pandemic, the women of Owensboro have prevailed,” said Impact 100 President Linda Wahl. “You’ve stepped up and committed for another year of positive change for our community.”
The other $10,800 is from Impact NextGen, the philanthropy organization for teenage girls that is associated with Impact 100 Owensboro. In four years, they’ve given $37,500 to the community.
“Even during a pandemic, these young ladies have been outstanding,” said Joy Carroll, Impact 100 Next Generation Chair. “They have shown true compassion and empathy.”
The finalists for the grant recipients will be announced in early September, and the winners are expected to be announced in October.
