Owensboro Health has released the following information on Healthpark restrictions:
The Healthpark is taking action to limit the potential impact of novel coronavirus. Please read carefully and make plans accordingly.
As part of Owensboro Health and as a medical-based fitness facility, the Healthpark has a responsibility to make the right decisions for the health of our community, members and employees. It is important that we all do our part to slow the spread of novel coronavirus and limit its impact on our region. We are open and continue to provide health services to our community, but we are also taking several action steps to limit social gathering and reduce the potential risk of COVID-19.
Beginning on Monday, Mar. 16, the following programs will be closed for two weeks:
- Group fitness classes, land and water
- The Playpark
- Community education programs
- Support groups
- Card and game-playing groups
- Specialty classes (postponed for two weeks)
The two-week pause in programming supports CDC recommendations for social distancing and is being done for the safety of our members and patients. Our current plan is to evaluate the suspension in two weeks, but this is subject to change as the coronavirus issue evolves.
Meanwhile, our facility remains open at regular hours, and our team is working vigilantly to maintain a safe, healthy environment. But we are all in this together. Here’s how you can do your part to limit COVID-19’s potential impact:
- Wash your hands frequently and for 20 seconds at a time.
- Practice social distancing.
- Wipe down equipment before and after each use.
- Stay home when you’re sick.
