The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a flash flood warning in effect until 10:30 p.m. for Daviess County and surrounding areas.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
One half to three quarters of an inch has already fallen today. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible locally. Flash flooding may be ongoing or expected to begin before sunset.
Other areas included in the warning are Henderson, Union and Webster counties in northwestern Kentucky, as well as Warrick, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Posey counties in southwestern Indiana.
