The Owensboro Sanitation Department will be on a one-day delay after the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, with Friday’s route being collected on Saturday.
Fully understanding the extra trash needs during the holiday season, the Sanitation Department will collect extra trash on the customer’s first scheduled trash day after Christmas. The department asks that customers place trash in plastic bags and set three feet away from the trash cart.
Natural Christmas trees will be collected beginning Jan. 2 through Jan. 7. Customers are asked to place trees four feet away from trash cart and not to place trees in bags.
