LADY PANTHERS WIN FOURTH IN A ROW
Daviess County (4-1) used a strong fourth quarter to pull away for a 48-37 victory over South Spencer (Ind.) on the road, marking the fourth win in a row for the Lady Panthers. Trailing by one after the first quarter, DC went up by five at the half and led by six after three periods.
Adalyn Ayer scored all of her team-high 15 points in the second half to help the Lady Panthers close out the game. Shea Mason hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points, and Brooklyn Daugherty added 10. Katie Mewes (9) and Madison Spurrier (2) also scored.
LADY DEVILS SUFFER NARROW HOME LOSS
Owensboro (2-4) took an early lead, but they eventually lost 41-36 at home to McLean County for their third loss in a row. Individual stats were not available.
BOYS
EAGLES DROP HOME GAME AT BUTLER COUNTY
Apollo (0-6) hung close through three quarters, but Butler County pulled away late for a 64-51 victory. Tied at 11-all after the first quarter, the Bears led by four at halftime and by five heading into the fourth period.
Apollo’s Malik Wilson had a team-high 18 points. Dan St. Claire added eight, while Cameron Frantz and Ryan Ash had seven each. Also scoring were Jamen Kinison (5), Jaden Kelly (3) and Harrison Bowman (3).
