Unless someone new takes over the lease at Windy Hollow Speedway, the track will be closed for the 2020 season. Operator Jimmy Westerfield went live on Facebook Monday evening and said,” there has been a lot of talk going around lately that maybe we weren’t going to have the track next year or in the future … and that is 100 percent true.”

He said he and his family worked hard to get to where they are at, but all the renovations were going to take a lot of time and a lot of money.

Both tracks will be leased out by Evelyn Miller.

Here is the Facebook post in its entirety:

Just to let everyone know there wasn’t any falling outs between any partners. It was a decision made by all 4 of us.

We went into this deal with our budget being around $60,000. The red clay we was getting was red clay but it had a bunch of rock in it. It was going cost us any where from $75,000 to $100,000 to get the clay ran through a screen to get all the rock out of it. Plus the expensive with the concrete for bleachers an the lights an a wall.
We was looking at around $150,000 when we was set and done. unfortunately we don’t have the funds or the time to get the deal done by race season.

We appreciate the support from all of our sponsors from the beginning of this journey to the end.

Thank you to anyone who has helped us in any way possible.

Anyone who got a season pass for points we will be getting in contact with you guys to make it right.

Thank you for understanding.

Both Tracks are up for lease. Contract Evelyn Miller (Rooster) for information about leasing the dirt track or drag strip. Thanks.
