Daviess County Judge-Executive Al Mattingly has declared a state of emergency following Saturday’s wide-spread storm and wind damage to utility poles and electric lines.

County officials have requested state and federal funding assistance to aid electric co-ops in restoring properties due to storm damage.

This declaration does not concern any closures of roads, offices, or services, but rather assists electric co-ops in re-cooperating losses from the storm.

All agencies of Daviess County should fully cooperate with the Daviess County Emergency Management Agency and provide assistance as necessary.

Under this State of Emergency, the County Judge/Executive can waive procedures and formalities otherwise required by law pertaining to
a. performance of public work
b. entering into contracts
c. incurring obligations
d. employment of permanent and temporary workers
e. utilization of volunteer workers
f. rental of equipment
g. appropriation and expenditure of public fund
