The National Weather Service out of Paducah has posted a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected Sunday night and into Monday morning.
There is a chance for severe thunderstorms after midnight Sunday, across southeast Missouri, the southwest tip of Illinois, and far western Kentucky. Damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and a few tornadoes would be the primary threats with the line of storms.
Heavy rainfall may also cause some localized flooding concerns.
The severe thunderstorm threat continues into Monday morning. Severe chances begin to decrease by late morning, but can`t be ruled out until the front makes passage during the afternoon hours. Isolated damaging winds and a brief tornado or two are the main threats.
