DCMS sweeps city-county XC race

Local middle school runners were in action Thursday in the City County meet, with Daviess County sweeping the boys’ and girls’ races. The top 14 runners from each race were named to the All City County Teams based on their times.

Nolan Kurz of DCMS placed first in the boys race, setting a course record for the 4K with a time of 14:24.38.

In the girls race, Lucy Spaw of Burns Middle School placed first after battling it out with DCMS runner Bentlei Stallings.

The DCMS girls (30 points) edged out Burns (39 points), while the DCMS boys (35 points) easily outpaced Burns and College View, who tied for second with with 70 points. CVMS officially placed second as their sixth runner broke the tie.
