Jackie was a dedicated UK fan and lover of sports, the outdoors and music. She was an energetic and lively woman who was devoted to her family. Jackie gave unselfishly of her time and assistance to her loved ones. Jackie was her happiest when cheering on UK and her kid’s/grandkid’s sporting events, fishing with her husband or listening to him play the guitar and sing, spoiling her dog Toby, or gardening, baking and talking with her grandkids.
Jackie is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 25 years Olen, son Kevin Porter, daughter Michelle Ryan and husband Marty, daughter Jodi Porter, daughters Melissa DaVania (John) and Amy Chanley (Michael); Aunt Bobby Stroud, sister Debbie Morton, grandchildren Brittany, Tierney, Camden, Madison, Sophia, Taylor and Lillee, as well as great grandchildren Berkley, Baylor, and Betsy and her adoring puppy Toby.
The Funeral Service for Jackie Franklin will be 4 PM Wednesday, July 3, at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 PM until 4 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. A private burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Owensboro Humane Society.
