Detectives with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a New York woman accused of running an illicit massage business out of two eastern Daviess County locations.
Meixin Li, 35, of Flushing, New York, was arrested Wednesday and charged with engaging in organized crime, a Class B felony, according to a release from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO). She was taken to the FBI office in Owensboro, read her Miranda rights, and interviewed by detectives before being lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
The arrest stems from an investigation that began in July 2024, when the public tipped off DCSO to suspected illicit activity at two locations: East Spa at 3115 Commonwealth Ct, Suite B-7, and Bloom 88 (formerly Super Lucky Spa) at 3811 KY 54, Suite 104.
According to the release, DCSO detectives, working alongside federal and state agencies, executed search warrants on April 8 at both locations. The warrants followed an eight-month investigation involving the DCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Kentucky State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Customs Enforcement, and others.
Items seized during the search included opened and unopened condoms hidden in various compartments, lingerie, sex toys, U.S. currency, bank records, wire transfers to China, ledgers, and credit card receipts—supporting allegations of illicit sexual activity, the release said.
Li had been identified as a suspect earlier in the investigation but was not present during the April 8 raids. A warrant was later issued for her arrest.
Officials also credited the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office, the Department of Criminal Investigations, and New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services with contributing to the successful outcome of the case.
