Beverly Ann Cook Felty Ashby, age 75, entered into Heaven early on Easter morning, April 20, 2025. She was the oldest of nine children born to the late Ethel “Junior” & Lois Cook, on July 20, 1949.
To know Beverly was to love Beverly. She had the biggest heart and was always willing to give anything she could, even if it was the shirt off of her back. No words can adequately describe what an incredible person she was and she will be missed dearly. Beverly was known for her snark, sense of humor, and fiery attitude (with the red hair to match!). She was never afraid to tell you how she felt, and it was usually littered with a little colorful language. She was chronically late to family functions, and her family often joked that she would be late to her own funeral–but instead, she went far too early and we know she is raising a little hell in Heaven. After losing her father at the young age of 15, she had to leave school to enter the workforce to help support her family. She completed her GED and continued working various places, including the local cafe, local mill, and Thomas Industries. She worked for many years in the purchasing department at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems (SEWS). Beverly was the type of person who could carry a conversation with anyone, from a farmer to a CEO of a major company. She proudly completed her Bachelors degree from Mid-Continent University many years later while working fulltime.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents H.E. & Eileen Allen, and sisters-in-law Mona Ford Cook & Pat Howze.
Those left behind to cherish her memories include her daughter, Janna “Shelley” Patterson, her son Noah Ashby (Sara), a grandson Chance Patterson, a granddaughter Breeze Patterson, four brothers: Bobby Cook (Mary-Lou), Leonard Cook (Cherie), Danny Cook (Elizabeth), and Mark Cook (Gay), four sisters: Pam Wilson (Kenny), Lola Austin (Butch), Becky Williams, and Mary Cook, sister-in-law Norma Barrett (Bill), nephews: Dennis Cook (Sarah), Allen Cook (Michelle), Arthur Cook (Miranda), Jacob Williams (Melanie), Harrison Cook (Rachel), and Stuart Cook (Theo); nieces: Eve Baker (Freddie), Sabrina Reed (Matt), Brandy Smith (Justyn), Danielle Smith (Eric), Kristi Reed (Justin), and Cassie Bryant (Jonathan); great nephews/nieces: Taylor Almy, Bryson Baker, Emilee Baker, Gracie Cook, Alex Cook, Trey Cook, Ella Smith, Marshall Reed, Emerson Reed, Claire Cook, Elise Cook, Kensi Bryant, Jackson Bryant, Nicholas Cook, Grant Cook, Avery Cook, Peter Cook, Cora Cook, Charlie Williams, Chandler Williams, Caroline Reed, Cole Reed, Rogan Smith, and Shep Smith.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025. Visitation will be Monday, April 28th, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of service at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home, with her nephew Bro. Dennis Cook officiating the service. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery immediately following the funeral. Online condolences may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com.
