Jacob Louis “Jake” Horn, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Signature Healthcare—Hartford. He was born February 18, 1937 in Spencer County, Indiana to the late Callie Louis and Dorothy McIntire Horn. Jake was a member of Masonville Methodist Church and a retired over the road truck driver for Mercer Transportation. He loved fishing, hunting, and farming and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Jake loved the trip he took to England and France with his wife Mary Ann and her French class. He also loved his fishing trips to Canada and his trips he took with his son Kevin to visit military museums. Jake had been a member of the Ensor Masonic Lodge #729 for 50 years and the Goel Chapter #104 of the Eastern Star for 60 years. Jake was also preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Small and a brother, Cleon Horn.
Surviving are his wife of 69 ½ years, Mary Ann Shrode Horn; his children, Dr. Kelly Morris (Dale Guffy) of Philpot and Kevin Horn (Stephanie) of Crofton; two grandchildren, Jacob Morris (Paige) of Clinton, Indiana and Daniel Morris of Philpot; a sister, Teri Mueller of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Noon Tuesday, April 22, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana.
The family has requested that “Suspenders and overalls are welcome”.
