Willidean “Deanie” Tanner Phillips, 90, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025. Born on July 17, 1934, in Livermore, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Eveline Tanner.
Deanie was a woman of quiet strength and deep grace, known for her remarkable work ethic and kind heart. She spent over 30 years at Macy’s, where her dedication and determination consistently exceeded expectations. Her passion for uplifting those around her earned her lasting friendships and the respect of all who knew her. A proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Deanie lived a life guided by compassion, service, and integrity. She had a natural gift for making people feel seen and valued—whether in the workplace or simply in passing conversation.
In addition to her parents, Deanie was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Phillips, and siblings, Harold Tanner, Margaret Owen, and Edwina Johnson Fulkerson.
Those left to cherish her memories is her children, Jeanie (Lewis) Jean and Greg (Patty) Phillips; grandchildren, Josh (Lacy) Jean, Matt (Lindsey) Jean, Sarah (Brian) Baughn, Logan (Megan) Phillips, and Tyler (Jillian) Phillips; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Western Kentucky and the Heartford House for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion during this time.
Services will be private with care entrusted to Cardinal Cremation Society.
