
Joanna Kay Durham, 84, of Owensboro KY passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025. Kay was born June 30, 1940, to John and Olive (Dumpy) Hartz. Kay graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School.
Kay retired from Medley Distillery and was an avid UK Wildcat basketball fan. Kay found great joy in being a Grandmother and attending the sports and activities of her grandchildren. One of Kay’s greatest loves in her life was her savior Jesus Christ and on April 10th Kay was able to join her husband Guy and other deceased loved ones in heaven to sit alongside Jesus Christ.
Along with her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband Guy “Buddy” Durham, sister in law Elizabeth “Liz” Francis, sister and brother in law Henry and Peggy Collier, sister and brother in law Donna and Jim Durham, sister in law Patsy Hartz, brother in law David Henderson, brother in law Bob Waters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers Joe Hartz (Sherry), Johnny Hartz, her sisters Jean Williams (Melvin), Jennifer Henderson, Judy Waters, brother in law Bill Francis as well as her children, Scott Durham, Kim White and Guy Durham (Sherry). Kay was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Jordan Durham (Megan), Kyle Durham (Breanna), Keaton Durham, Shelby Durham, Anna Grace White, Seth White (Pamela), Jordan White, and 5 great grandchildren, Jettson and Pierson Durham, Evangeline White, Banks and Bella White.
Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
