It was a great night for the local schools as Apollo and Daviess County both won.
Apollo 10, Butler County 0
Mollie Julian threw a perfect game, striking out 11, to power the E-Gals to a 10-0 win over Butler County. Grace Parker finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Isabella Feldpausch, Tyler Hall, and Liza Page had two hits each. Arianna Ramirez and Sydney Stallings combined for six hits and four RBIs.
“Mollie threw really well and we made the defensive plays behind her,” Apollo head coach Stephen Julian said. “Offensively, we swung the bat well up and down the lineup and got timely hits.”
Daviess County 7, Tecumseh 2
Annie Newman went 2-3 with a homer and two RBIs in the Lady Panthers’ 7-2 win over Tecumseh. Kylie Clark and Briley Henry combined for four hits and four RBIs, while Molly Hancock finished 1-3. Sophia Cain allowed two earned runs over four innings, while Storey Hume and Kamryn Timmons combined to throw three shutout innings, striking out five.
“I thought we set the tone offensively early and had a lot of quality at bats,” Daviess County head coach John Biggs said. “Our defense was spot on. Sophia and Storey did a nice job of keeping their hitters off balance and Kam finished it off.”
