Lloyd "Kenny" Lucas

Lloyd “Kenny” Lucas, age 87 of Big Spring, KY passed away April 7, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin. He was born in Big Spring, KY on April 6, 1938, one of thirteen children of the late Eva Mae Board and Charles Lucas, Sr. He was a member of Big Spring United Methodist Church, a former Deputy with the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, having served with Sheriff Stinnett, Kennedy and Haynes and a former employee of Armes Equipment, where he worked as an equipment transporter and sales clerk. Kennith was a lifelong livestock farmer, as well as the owner of a trucking company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Louise, Harold, Julius, Chuck, Teeny, Lee, Cordy and Jackie.

Kennith is survived by his wife Shirley of Big Spring, KY. They were married on September 21, 1957, and enjoyed many happy years together.

2 children: Jerry Lloyd Lucas and his wife Tracy of Big Spring, KY and Patricia Ann Lucas of Big Spring, KY

3 grandchildren: David, Chelsea and Travis

3 great grandchildren: Keri, Carter and Isabella

1 brother: Junior Lucas and his wife Janice of Big Spring, KY

3 sisters: Lois Phelps and her husband Wayne of Leitchfield, KY; Frankie Foster of Louisville, KY and Mona Gross of Hardinsburg, KY.

Many nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at High Plains Methodist Church on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 12 PM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, 2:30 – 7 PM. There will be no visitation on Saturday. All times are central.
