Boyd Edward Mingus, age 92 of Woodrow, KY passed away April 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Locust Hill, KY on November 22, 1932, son of the late Irvin K. and Alta Carman Mingus. He retired from American Olean Tile, was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Locust Hill Methodist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting hickory chickens and driving his tractor or four-wheeler on his farm. He loved having his family living near him on the “Mingus compound” in the Woodrow community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Brandon Milburn, son-in-law Gary Matthews and his infant brother.
Boyd is survived by his wife Nancy Mingus of Woodrow, KY
3 children: Dawn Matthews, Brent Mingus (Angela) and Brian Mingus (Melody) of Woodrow, KY
6 grandchildren: Gregory Milburn, Nicole Matthews, Brett Mingus (Ashley), Amber Duncan (Aaron), Benjamin Mingus (Bella) and Brianna Ramsey (Josh)
16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11 AM with burial in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, 4-7 PM and Tuesday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
