Owensboro Catholic and McLean County both picked up wins on their final day of a weeklong stint in Florida.
Owensboro Catholic 3, Lake Park (IL) 2
Luke Quinn tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts to lead Owensboro Catholic to a 3-2 win over Lake Park on Friday. Christopher Burns tripled and drove in a run, while Brady Atwell added an RBI single and stole two bases. Mason Moser also drove in a run as the Aces scored all three runs in the third inning.
McLean County 14, Carlisle (OH) 6
Layden Bozarth went 3-4 with a homer and four RBIs in the Cougars’ 14-6 win over Carlisle. Houston Whitaker went 2-5 with an RBI, while Jax Lee and Corbin Martin combined for five hits and four RBIs. Ayden Rice was the starting pitcher, allowing four earned runs with two strikeouts, while Martin pitched the last four innings out of the bullpen.
