
Thomas Allen Wells, 72, of Philpot, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, Indiana. He was born September 14, 1952 in Owensboro to the late Earl Newman Wells and Elizabeth “Betty” Doyn Blakeney Wells. Allen hired in at NSA on July 9, 1973. Known as Big “A”, and well thought of by many, he retired from Century Aluminum as a supervisor in 2015. He graduated from Daviess County High School in 1970 where he played baseball and basketball and held the record for the highest number of shots made in a basketball game. Allen excelled in sports and received a baseball scholarship to Tampa Junior College.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Daniel Conrad.
He is survived by a son, Jon Wells (Kim); daughters, Jenna Meserve (Andy) and Emily Ferreira (Carlos); daughter-in-law, Jamie Conrad; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat Daugherty (Garland Parker), Jane Peveler (the late Dwain), Ann Shelton (Billy), and Greg Wells (Sue); and several nieces and nephews.
Prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
