Diana Marie Hunter was born on February 26, 1960, in Logan County, Kentucky, to the late Sam Morris Grinter and Dorothy Mae Cage Grinter. The tenth-born of 14 children, Diana loved spending time with people, whether in the company of her large family or the community she built while living in Owensboro.
Diana worked as an educator for Owensboro Public Schools, but she also devoted her time to coaching a variety of sports, such as tennis, basketball, and volleyball, and also created the OHS step team. Diana was known for her love of tennis and participated in local teams that became as close as family to her. Her success with tennis also allowed her to serve as a tennis coach as an alumnus of Kentucky Wesleyan College and also at Brescia University. Diana further contributed to her community through serving on the Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation board of directors. Diana never met a stranger, and her love of people enabled her to build countless connections throughout the community.
