Daviess County and Owensboro both won, while Hancock County fell short.

Daviess County 10, Talawanda (Oxford), OH 1

Leading 2-1, the Panthers scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat Talawanda (Oxford) 10-1. Ogan Mews, Gavin Howard, and Parker Wilson combined for three hits and six RBIs, while Sean Page, Brett Poole, and Lucas Ward each drove in a run. On the mound, Weston Lawrence allowed one earned run over five innings, while Poole and Wilson both recorded shutout innings out of the bullpen.

“We threw well on the mound and we made some plays defensively, especially up the middle,” Daviess County head coach Austin Clay said. “At the plate, we did a good job of taking what they gave us early.”

Spencer County 13, Hancock County 0

The Hornets fell behind early and never recovered, losing to Spencer County 13-0. Dylan Mucker had the team’s lone hit, while Carson Clark, Grant Smith, and Hunter Greathouse all pitched.

Owensboro 4, IMG Academy (Bradenton), FL 2

The Red Devils scored three runs in the top of the first and never trailed from there, beating IMG Academy 4-2. Eli Hampton went 2-4, while Trevor DeLacey went 1-2 with two RBIs. Blake Kimbrell and Will Rickard also drove in runs. Cayden Ray allowed two runs across six innings, striking out three, while Richard closed it out.

“Our guys played a really gritty game,” Owensboro head coach Jake Fiorella said. “Cayden Ray & Will Rickard were fantastic on the mound, and our defense played clean baseball behind them. Offensively, we did a great job of capitalizing on our opportunities to score and were strong with situational hitting. We’re really proud of our team for gutting it out and competing today—we’re back on the horse again tomorrow.”
