Two homes were hit by gunfire Sunday morning but no injuries were reported, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
Authorities said OPD responded to the 1700 block of Hughes Avenue for multiple calls about a firearm discharge. Police records show the incident took place at approximately 9:50 a.m. Sunday.
According to OPD, witnesses and residents in the area stated “there was an argument and then gunshots were heard prior to suspects leaving the area. Officers processed the scene for evidence and collected multiple shell casings and observed two homes with bullet holes.”
An arrest warrant has been obtained and detectives are attempting to locate the suspect, authorities said. The preliminary investigation has determined this is an isolated incident, according to OPD.
The Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to follow leads in the case.
