Sharon Hamilton Thurman, age 78 of Cloverport, KY, went to be with Jesus on March 20, 2025. She was born in Cloverport on April 3, 1946, daughter of the late Sam and Marie Smith Hamilton. Sharon retired in 2003 from General Electric where she worked for 36 years. She was a member of Cloverport Methodist Church. Sharon enjoyed painting, flower gardening and cooking. She looked forward to visits with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great grandchild Kinsey Marie and siblings Eugene Hamilton, Glenn Hamilton, Tinsy Hamilton, Tad Johnson, Jimmy Hamilton and Chloe Hamilton.
Sharon is survived by Damone, her husband of almost 60 years.
2 children: Kevin Thurman (Joe Lynn) of Cloverport, KY and Theresa Elder (Greg) of Owensboro, KY
4 grandchildren: Kyle Elder, Lauren Crockett (Derek), Lindsey Carr (Ben) and Tatum Thurman
5 great grandchildren: Damon, Gavin, Jax, Addison and Maylee
Funeral services will be held at Cloverport Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11 AM with burial in the Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, 5-8 PM and Tuesday, 9 – 11 AM. All times are central.
