Linda Bingaman

Linda Bingaman, 84, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 20, 2025, surrounded by her family and reuniting at long last with the love of her life, whom she has missed for nearly 50 years. Her heart, though strong and full of love, always carried that longing, and now she is home. Linda was born March 14, 1941, in Graham, Kentucky to Herbert and Lila Maxine Knight.

Linda was the foundation of her family—raising four children on her own while gaining her GED and graduating with a business degree from Owensboro Business College. She always was proudest of the hard working, loving children she raised who all attended and graduated from collegiate schools. Linda retired from Owensboro Health as a dietitian in 2001 and became a stay-at-home Grandma and Granny. She would do anything to help any of her family and often could be found at the events of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always happiest when everyone was together. When not assisting family in some way, she could be found among her numerous flower beds at her home or watching the many birds visit those same flowers. She loved fiercely and without condition, making every person in her life feel cherished.

Though she would never admit to having a favorite among her family, everyone knew the truth—it was always the baby. The newest little one in the family held a special place in her heart, a testament to her endless love and nurturing spirit.

Her absence leaves a deep void, but her love, wisdom, and love of family will live on in the countless lives she touched. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, her heart finally whole again.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Lloyd E. Bingaman, her parents and her siblings, Herbert Allen Knight, Elizabeth Ann Whicker, Wilma Dean Goodman and Hanson Knight, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Melinda (Bill) Babb of Owensboro, Lloyd (Robin) Bingaman of Springfield, TN, Jerry (Anita) Bingaman of Goodlettsville, TN, and Kelly (Wayne) Wilson of Owensboro. Grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Roberts, Lindsey Babb Schimmel, Sara (Jacob) Hipes, Emily (Jacob) Dyce, Clay (Christina) Bingaman, Justin (Ashley) Foy and Christopher Wilson. Great-Grandchildren Ericka (Kevin) Brake, Seth Babb, Blake Roberts, Trey Babb, Bradley Roberts, Addy Schimmel, Abbi Dyce, Maizy Hipes, Isaac Dyce and the current favorite and only Great-Great Granddaughter, Wilder Brake. Siblings, James (Gail) Knight and Carolyn Sue (Jimmy) Lindsey.

The family wishes to thank Brenda Howard for her care and companionship to their mother during her last year of life along with Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, who assisted in keeping her comfortable during her final days.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, March 25, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM until 7 PM Monday and from 9 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
