Born on February 16, 1936, in Ilion, New York, to the late Alton and Alice Babcock, Barbara grew up in her hometown, where she graduated from high school. A lifelong learner, she pursued higher education in her mid-forties, earning an associate degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 1991. Barbara went on to build a fulfilling career as a discharge planning clerk at St. Vincent Hospital, where her dedication and compassion earned her the esteemed titles of Partner of the Quarter and Partner of the Year. She retired after 25 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and commitment. An avid reader, Barbara had a deep appreciation for history, particularly the Civil War, World War II, and biographies. She also had a talent for crafting, creating beautiful works through crocheting, knitting, and sewing. However, one of her greatest joys was being a founding member of the ‘Alabama Auntaloon Society’ alongside her beloved sisters, a testament to the deep bonds of love and laughter they shared.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Myers, and sisters, Elizabeth Babcock, Nancy Donowick, Marianne Costello, and Margaret Papa.
