Owensboro Catholic Middle School will use another non-traditional instruction (NTI) on Tuesday. Estes Elementary and Owensboro Middle will both be closed (no NTI), while Owensboro High School will be back in session as normal.

The message from Owensboro Catholic Schools reads:

Due to damage from the recent hail storm, the MIDDLE school will be on another NTI day for Tuesday, March 18th.  This will give us more time to make needed repairs and to ensure the building is safe for our students. All other campuses will be in person and on normal schedule.

Owensboro Public Information Officer Jared Revlett said crews were able to repair enough of the damage at OHS that it could reopen Tuesday. Students will not have to make up the missed day on Monday.

However, two other OPS schools will be closed. Revlett said as crews tried to repair minor damage at Estes and OMS, more damage was discovered, and leaks and other problems developed that will require more attention. Both schools will be closed on Tuesday, and the missed day will not have to be made up by students. Meals can still be picked up at both schools from 8-9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
