Betsy H. Gist, 91, of Philpot, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital. She was born April 15, 1933 in Daviess County to the late Norris Allan and Emily Hardin Helm. Betsy had worked as a secretary for Wyndall’s Enterprises. She was a member of South Hampton Baptist Church where she played the piano for nearly 50 years and she loved the members there dearly. Betsy was a very selfless person who loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Gist.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Obenchain (Lee) of Henderson; two grandchildren, Stephen Obenchain (Erin) and Mark Obenchain (Rachael); and seven great-grandchildren, Hailey, Emily, Ryan, Jacki, Molly, Hazel, and Penny.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
