A wave of nostalgia is set to sweep through RiverPark Center this summer as the “Happy Together” Tour makes its return. The tour, a longtime favorite for fans of ’60s and ’70s music, will bring its signature lineup of acts to Owensboro on August 12 at 7 p.m.
Celebrating its 16th year, the tour features a cast of performers with a combined 55 Billboard Top 40 hits. Headlining the show once again are The Turtles, best known for their infectious 1967 hit “Happy Together,” which lends the tour its name. The group, known for its harmony-driven California pop sound, will also perform classics such as “Elenore,” “She’d Rather Be with Me,” and “You Showed Me.”
Joining The Turtles are Jay and the Americans, a group that rose to prominence with hits like “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Cara Mia” and “This Magic Moment.” Their chart-topping career spanned from 1962 to 1971.
Little Anthony will also take the stage, bringing his signature vocals to a setlist filled with classics, including “Tears on My Pillow,” “I’m on the Outside (Looking In),” and “Goin’ Out of My Head.”
Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, known for their distinctive sound and dramatic ballads, return to the tour this year with hits like “Young Girl,” “Woman, Woman” and “Lady Willpower.”
Fans can also expect to hear harmonies from The Vogues, whose iconic songs include “Five O’Clock World,” “You’re the One,” and “Turn Around, Look at Me.”
Rounding out the bill are The Cowsills, the family group that served as the real-life inspiration for the hit television show The Partridge Family.
