
He was a member of F.O. Eagles, VFW Post 696, American Legion Post 9, Amvets, as well as Crosspointe Baptist Church. Wally was a Kentucky Colonel and a strong advocate for veteran’s rights.
He retired from Haskell Construction Co., had a passion for NASCAR racing, collecting lighters and knives, watching westerns, and would have been the best “phone a friend” you could ask for in the Movie Category.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace G. Sr.; his sister, Cynthia A. Basham; and a nephew, David G. Brown.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Beverly Hancock; his brother, David C. Hancock (Debbie); his sister, Tambra Dunn (Tom); nephews, Jarred, Brandon, and Zac Brown, Jeffrey Hancock; nieces, Theda Jordan, Jessica Heichelbech, and Lindsay Rone, as well as many more great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon on Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
