Owensboro Catholic won on the road, while Daviess County, Hancock County, and Trinity (Whitesville) all lost.
Grayson County 86, Daviess County 84
Jonathan Moss finished with 32 points, nine rebounds, and five assists as the Panthers fell in triple overtime to Grayson County 86-84. DeAaron Watkins (19 points, 12 rebounds) and Joe Varble (13 points, 13 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles, while Aydan Ayer and Jaxon Brown both added nine points.
“It was a highly competitive game with a wild ending,” Daviess County head coach Neil Hayden said. “We had our opportunities to win and didn’t close out the game. I am proud of the team for competing, but we will hopefully learn from this game.”
Ohio County 59, Hancock County 55
Dylan Morris finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block as they lost to Ohio County 59-55. Seth Hunt added eight points and11 rebounds, while Alex Madden was second on the team in scoring with nine points.
Owensboro Catholic 60, Madisonville North Hopkins 54
The Aces had four scorers finish in double-digits to power them past Madisonville-North Hopkins 60-54 and win their second straight. Solly Smith led the way with 16 points, while Davyn Randolph hit four threes to go along with his 13 points. Dre’Mail Carothers scored six of his 11 points in the second half, while Waryn Ebelhar scored six of his 10 points in the third quarter.
Breckinridge County 74, Trinity (Whitesville) 48
The Raiders were unable to overcome a slow start and an off-shooting night, losing to Breckinridge County 74-48. Will Hernandez scored all of his team-high 16 points in the second half, while Connor Hatfield added 13 points. Ian Roby hit three threes and Cale Boarman recorded six points.
“We got off to a slow start,” Trinity (Whitesville) head coach Nathan West said. “It took us the entire first half to settle down and we also had a bad shooting night. Those two are a bad combination. I am proud of the way we battled back in the second half.”
