A new motorsports event is rolling into Owensboro this summer. The inaugural Bluegrass 3 Wheel Classic will take place June 6-8 at the Sportscenter, featuring hundreds of Polaris Slingshots and other three-wheeled motorcycles.

The event is organized by Armour Custom Works, owned by Jarrell and Cynthia Armour of Jacksonville, Florida. The couple brings extensive experience in hosting three-wheel events, and Jarrell Armour is a multiple award-winning craftsman in the Polaris Slingshot industry.

“With the rich history of the motorsports industry associated with Owensboro, it is the perfect spot for our first-ever event in Kentucky,” Armour said. “The three-wheel community is going to feel right at home with three days of nonstop fun, live music, and good vibes in the city. We’ve got vendors, participants, spectators, and competitors rolling in from all over the country, so if you’re a three-wheel enthusiast or just love the scene, this is the place to be.”

Armour said trike motorcycles, or three-wheeled motorcycles, offer a wider stance and better balance than traditional two-wheeled motorcycles. They are popular among beginners, long-distance riders, and motorcycle enthusiasts.

The event will feature several competitions, including a Show and Shine contest recognizing the best paint, interior, wrap, theme, and overall appearance. A sound competition will award championship belts in different classes. At the same time, the Armour Custom Works Slingshot Olympics – a series of team-based challenges similar to an adult field day – will offer gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Tiger Bracy, the engineer behind the Polaris Slingshot, will also be in attendance.

“This premier motorsports event has significant growth potential and will draw a national audience,” said Mark Calitri, president of Visit Owensboro. “At the same time, it provides a unique and exciting experience for our local residents.”

Vendors will be on-site offering accessories for all types of three-wheeled vehicles. For more information, visit Armour Custom Works’ Facebook page here.
