
He had a love for UK basketball, Nascar racing and yard work but, tennis was his passion. He was a member of the USTA Tennis League, winning numerous awards in both singles and doubles tennis throughout his life.
After retirement , Mike became involved with Habitat For Humanity of Owensboro and volunteered for them for 22 years. While involved with Habitat, he worked in construction and served on the board for two terms. During his time with them he received the Golden Rule Award, the Star Award for outstanding retired volunteer and the honorary Key to The City in appreciation to his dedication in volunteerism for the city.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carrie Laughlin; his daughter, Tracy Laughlin of Owensboro; and his sister, Mary Rothberg , age 98, of Florida.
Services will be private for family members. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
