Johnny Troop, 88, of Madisonville passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025
at his home. He was born October 4, 1936, in Hopkins County, KY to the late
John E. and Eula Burns Troop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Cloern
and Margaret DeMoss.
Johnny worked for the CSX Railroad for 36 years and retired in 1998.
During his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Troop; son Jonathan Troop of Madisonville; daughters Jan Carlton (Rob) of Owensboro, and Scarlett Beeny (Alan) of Madisonville; grandson Alex Beeny of Lexington; sisters Sharon Gray, and Gayle (Warren) Haviland all of Owensboro; brother-in-law Tommy Hudson of Hanson; sister-in-law Sheryl Hudson of Joliet, Il, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2:00 p.m. at Barnett Strother Funeral Home Madisonville, KY with Rev. Kara Foster officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

First Christian Church, Madisonville, or a charity of your choice.
