Shirley Tipmore Young, 82, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. She was born June 9, 1942 in Daviess County to the late Martin and Donna Tabor Tipmore. Shirley retired from Daviess County Public Schools as a bus monitor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert “Bobby Joe” Young; and a grandson, Chad Young.
She is survived by her children, Keith (Alison) Young, Rob (Kathy) Young, Donna (Coleman) Cooper, Marty Joe (Sue) Young; 13 grandchildren, Misty Young Lowe, Travis Young, Stephen Locher, Tyler Young, Katlin Rafferty, Bailey Cummins, Brittany Brown, Brandi Hoover, Austin Gall, Steven Oliver, Morgan Tong, Shawn Marks, and Shane Marks; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
