Samuel Harrison “Sam” Priest, Jr., age 76 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away at his residence on February 1, 2025. Sam was born in Buras, KY on June 11, 1948, son of the late Samuel Harrison Priest, Sr. and Clara Rhodes Priest. He was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and Breckinridge County Antique Tractor and Engine Club. He retired from Meade County RECC after 30 years of service. Sam loved time with his family, especially his grandchildren’s activities. He enjoyed camping, attending engine shows and tinkering in his shop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Joe Priest, Tom Priest, Janet Priest, Betty Heaverin, Dorothy Morris and Bonnie Williams.
Sam is survived by his wife Sylvia Priest of Hardinsburg, KY
4 children: Missy Critchelow (Raymond) of Hardinsburg, KY; Michelle Hammon (Beau) of Bucyrus, KS; Rackel Fentress (Matthew) of McDaniels, KY and Ralph Haynes, Jr. (Cherie) of Olathe, KS
7 grandchildren: Mariah Belcher (Tyler); Jada Critchelow, Brooklyn Critchelow; Preston Hammon, Braxton Hammon, Hayden Fentress and Hadley Fentress
1 great granddaughter Parker Belcher, who is due in July.
1 brother: Donnie Priest (Sue) of Hardinsburg, KY
2 sisters: Mary Johnson (Alan) of Florida and Cathy Priest of Paducah, KY
Many nieces, nephews and their families.
In keeping with the wishes of Sam, his family has chosen cremation with no services.
