Nearly 500 archers from ages 8 to 78 will be in Owensboro Friday through Sunday for the 56th USA Archery Indoor Nationals. Braden Gellenthien, who has been ranked the former world No. 1 archer, is among the competitors.
Gellenthien has won gold medals in the FITA Archery World Cup, Indoor World Championships, and Arizona Cup.
There are three divisions of competition: Collegiate, Indoor Nationals, and JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) Indoor Nationals. Every session will shoot 60 arrows to get their final score.
“I’m excited and happy to bring this new event to Owensboro. The level of competition will be high, and you will see a wide variety of ages at all levels,” said Rob Cox, USA Archery Tournament Director.
Live scoring can be found on BetweenEnds.com.
The event is being held at the Owensboro Convention Center.
