McLean County beat Trinity (Whitesville) on the road, while Hancock County lost at home.

South Spencer (Rockport) IN, 65, Hancock County 35

It was an off night for Hancock County, falling to South Spencer 65-35. Madyson Higdon led the way with seven points and 12 rebounds, while Ansley House added 10 points. Carolina Jones finished second on the team in scoring with eight points.

“South Spencer played a great game and beat us in every area tonight,” Hancock County head coach Kevin Husk said. We’ll try to bounce back tomorrow in our district game against Cloverport.”

McLean County 58, Trinity (Whitesville) 43

The Lady Cougars Karlee Floyd scored a game-high 19 points to lead McLean County to a 58-43 win over Trinity. Danielle Reynolds finished second on the team in scoring with 10 points, while Sarah Larkin added nine points.

“The girls are getting better at executing our offensive schemes and did a good job of getting high percentage shots,” McLean County head coach Eli Ellis said. “We got a few things to work out in our defnse, but I think we are heading in the right track.”

For the Lady Raiders, Ella Morris led the way with 12 points, while Sarah Payne added 10 points. Preslee Meserve and Rylynee Meserve each added eight points.

“We did not bring the energy,” Trinity (Whitesville) head coach Emily Hernandez said. “We did not rotate well defensively, make sharp cuts, or set good screens. We discussed consistency and I hope tomorrow we do a better job in those areas.”
