Daviess County won their sixth straight game, while Hancock County, Owensboro, and Trinity (Whitesville) all lost.

Daviess County 77, Webster County 60

Hosting Webster County, the Panthers cruised to a 77-60 victory for their sixth straight win. DeAaron Watkins led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Jonathan Moss added 23 points, seven assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Jaxon Brown hit two threes to go along with his 10 points.

“We played well as a team,” Daviess County head coach Neil Hayden said. “We pressured the ball defensively and shared the ball offensively. DeAaron was really good in the paint.”

Meade County 82, Hancock County 50

Hosting Meade County, the Hornets kept it close but ran out of steam down the stretch – falling 82-50. Seth Hunt led the team in scoring with 16 points and added six rebounds and three assists. Abe Simpson finished with 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Dylan Morris added five points and five rebounds.

“We played well for most of the game,” Hancock County head coach Josh Roberts said. “Going into the fourth quarter they made a run, and we didn’t counter. It has been the same all season. We have to be able to stand our ground and know teams make runs and how to stay composed on offense and defense. We also missed a lot of easy shots inside too that I would have loved to cash in. Overall, Meade is a very nice team, and we proved we can compete with them. Once behind we gambled to try to catch up and the final score was not representative of how well we played.”

Evansville Bosse (Evansville) IN 80, Owensboro 78

Trailing by four entering the fourth quarter, Owensboro was unable to pull off the comeback, falling to Evansville Bosse 80-78. Michael Acton led the team in scoring with 26 points, while Will Hume hit three threes to go along with his 21 points. Keylin Payton (11) and Ameon Richardson (10) also finished in double-figures.

Butler County 85, Trinity (Whitesville) 53

In a rematch from earlier in the season, Trinity showed plenty of improvement despite falling to Butler County 85-53. Connor Hatfield led the team in scoring with 18 points, while Ian Roby hit two threes to go along with his 12 points. Cale Boarman was third on the team in scoring with eight points.

“It was a much better game than the last time we played them,” Trinity (Whitesville) head coach Nathan West said. “Will Hernandez did an excellent job of pressuring Ty Price and forcing him into tougher shots. We got several open looks that didn’t fall, and we still have to do a better job of boxing out and playing our pace. Overall, though, I’m pleased with the improvement.”
