Owensboro 86, Hancock County 36

Hosting the Hornets, Owensboro emerged victorious 86-36. Keaton Hughes led the way with 17 points, while Michael Acton added 16 points, and Will Hume finished with 13 points.

For the Hornets, Keegan Wilson led the way with 14 points, three rebounds, and one assist. Alex Madden added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Abe Simpson finished with four points and seven boards.

“We shot very poorly,” Hancock County head coach Josh Roberts said. “We had a lot of great looks from two and three, but we couldn’t capitalize. We also played their game and didn’t follow our game plan. Hats off to Owensboro for playing their game.”

Grayson County 64, Apollo 59

Playing shorthanded, Apollo couldn’t overcome Grayson County falling 64-59. Tate Powers led the way with 19 points, while Luke Jarboe and Kobe Kelly added 12 points and 11 points. Landon Henning (8), Kayden Green (6), and Max Johnson (3) rounded out the teams scoring.

“The kids played hard with only six players tonight,” Apollo head coach Ryne Tinsley said. “We made too many mistakes down the stretch to finish the game. We need to lose to learn and improve. It is a painful gift.”

Daviess County 77, Meade County 69

Daviess County held off Meade County despite Hayden Shouse’s game-high 34 points – winning 77-69. Jonathan Moss finished with 24 points and five assists, while DeAaron Watkins added 24 points on an efficient 9-11 shooting – surpassing 1,000 career points. Watkins also added seven rebounds, four steals, and one assist. Jaxon Brown recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, one steal, and one assist.

“We shot well tonight, and we had to handle a big offensive performance from Shouse,” Daviess County head coach Neil Hayden said.

14 different Raiders scored to help Trinity snap their five-game losing streak, cruising past Cloverport 78-19. Easten Howard and Bransen Howard each scored nine points, while Mason Smith and Thomas Payne both recorded eight points.
