Michael “Mike” B. Donovan, 67, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at his home. He was born July 11, 1957 in Owensboro to the late Benny and Paula Wells Donovan. Mike was a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College. He was a retiree of United Parcel Service and Bimbo Bakeries. Mike was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams including: Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and the University of Kentucky Men’s basketball team. Mike was unafraid to question management of these teams and their controversial decisions and would not shy away from his opinions on what each organization should be doing. Aside from his sports and family interests, Mike attended Westside Church of Christ near his home when able and will be sorely missed by his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Donovan.
He is survived by a daughter, Meaghan Drumm (Adam); son, John Donovan (Jamie); six grandchildren, Ashlyn, Mason and Aubree Drumm (Meaghan) and Madilyn, Layla, and Kallie Donovan (John); brother, Jeff Donovan; two nieces, Taylor and Christian; and a nephew, Jeremy.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Elmwood Cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
