Jason Cox is a seasoned golf professional with decades of experience as a player and a coach. Now, he’s set to open the Golf Emporium, a full-scale golf retail and indoor training facility, in March.

Located at 323 Park Plaza Drive in Owensboro, the Golf Emporium promises to cater to golfers of all skill levels, combining a comprehensive pro shop with state-of-the-art technology and personalized services.

“We’re really trying to provide a mid- to high-level experience for golfers, regardless of their skill level,” Cox said. “Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned tournament player, we’ll have something for everyone.”

The facility will feature two indoor Foresight Falcon hitting bays, which Cox described as “the latest and greatest in golf tech.” These bays will be available for practice, instruction, recreation, and custom club fitting, which Cox emphasized as a primary focus.

“Custom fitting has become the standard in the golf industry,” Cox said. “We’ll have all the fitting components for major manufacturers like Callaway, Titleist, TaylorMade, PXG, and Cleveland. Our goal is to help golfers improve by ensuring their equipment is tailored to their game.”

The Golf Emporium will also serve as a designated PXG fitting center, eliminating the need for local golfers to travel to larger cities for fittings.

“We’re excited to bring this level of service to Owensboro and the surrounding region,” Cox said.

Beyond club fittings, the Golf Emporium will include a retail shop stocked with golf equipment, apparel, accessories, and more. The facility will also offer a full-service club repair shop, including grip replacements, loft and lie adjustments, and putter modifications.

A standout feature of the Golf Emporium is its dedicated putting studio, which will include a SAM PuttLab system on an adjustable platform. The studio will provide golfers with instant feedback on their putting strokes and simulate real-world green conditions.

“This technology allows us to fit putters more precisely and help golfers improve their short game,” Cox said. “The nearest facilities with this type of setup are in Nashville or Louisville, so we’re proud to offer this in Western Kentucky.”

Cox is a former head golf professional at The Pearl Club and head coach of Brescia University’s golf team. He is stepping down from coaching next month to focus on the new venture. He previously co-owned Legends Golf and Soccer in the early 2000s and said he is eager to bring something new to Owensboro’s golf scene.

“Our goal is to provide a more upscale, country club-like experience while maintaining a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere,” Cox said. “We want the Golf Emporium to be a place where golfers feel comfortable practicing, shopping, and learning more about the game.”

For those interested in recreational play, the hitting bays will also be available for rent, allowing golfers to practice or play simulated rounds on famous courses.

“Ultimately, we want to make golf better for everyone,” Cox said.
