Moses Johnson, 89, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at his home. He was born November 9, 1935 in Calhoun to the late Leroy Moses Johnson and Hazel Earl Wilhite Johnson. Moses graduated from Daviess County High School in 1954. He was a United States Army veteran and Kentucky Colonel. He worked as a construction boilermaker and a church van driver. Moses was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church. He served the Lord faithfully throughout his life and served as a deacon for years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony David Johnson and Norbert Edward Johnson; and two brothers, Paul Johnson and Thomas Hubert Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson; son, Timothy Allan Johnson (Robin); four grandchildren, Hadley B. Johnson, David Anthony Johnson, Joshua Allan Johnson, and Andrea Lauren Johnson; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Nell Martin (George); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Greater Vision Baptist Church, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Glenville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
