Owensboro Public Schools
OPS announced Wednesday they would be using NTI Days for both Thursday and Friday. Message from OPS:
Because of the entirety of the weather the past few days and the expected weather on Friday, our district will be working through a scenario that will allow us to get NTI packets and devices to students in order to provide instruction throughout the next couple of days and possibly into next week.
There is a lot of information about how this will work, so please read through everything below and if you have any questions, please reach out to us through Messenger on the Owensboro Public Schools Facebook page or by calling 270-686-1000..
Tomorrow and Friday, January 9-10, 2025, Owensboro Public Schools will utilize NTI Days #1 & #2 for our students.
For the students that already have their devices or packets, they will follow a normal NTI schedule as outlined in the district’s NTI Expectations. For those that do not have the materials they need, students and parents will be able to come pick up their devices or packets at their school tomorrow, January 9, 2025 from noon until 2 p.m.
Our Food Service staff are preparing breakfast and lunch for all students for both Thursday and Friday (four meals total) that can be picked up by the parents or students on January 9 from noon-2 p.m. when they pick up their NTI materials. Parents of students in multiple buildings can pick up meals at any one location, they do not have to go to each individual school to pick up their meals. Students do not have to be present to pick up the meals or the devices, but meals can only be distributed for students enrolled in the district.
If your family currently does not have access to the internet or electricity, please communicate that with your school and you will be given a packet to complete for the days that we are out due to weather.
I know this is a big undertaking for everyone involved and we appreciate your willingness to work together in order to ensure that we are providing educational services to our students throughout this winter weather episode.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via the methods listed above.
