Mary H. “Betty” Thompson, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on January 6, 2025 at Carmel Home. She was born on July 15, 1941, in McQuady, Ky. to the late Lafayette Haycraft and Ophelia Marie Payne Haycraft.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Howard, Dottie Hack, and Yvonne Haycraft.
Betty was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and Carmel Home. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, family and was devout in her faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Todd (Tammy) Thompson, Kim (Denny) Barnett, Kelly (Paul) Trogden, and Holly (Yaz) Wilson; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Jack Haycraft, Joe Haycraft, Faye Bilderbach, Carolyn Anderson, and Sheila Downs.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Carmel Home, with Father Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Carmel Home.
