Owensboro Parks & Recreation is preparing for its Little Spikers Youth Instructional League, designed for students in grades 2 through 5 and providing a supportive environment to learn and develop volleyball skills.
Little Spikers is a coed youth volleyball league designed to teach fundamentals and game knowledge. The registration fee is $102 per player, plus tax, and includes a shirt, coaching, and free volleyball. The registration deadline is January 17. The program begins with player evaluations and a parent meeting on January 8, with practices starting February 11. The season will conclude with a single-elimination tournament.
Practices will be held on Tuesdays or Thursdays, and players will showcase their skills in Saturday matches. Practices and matches will be led by experienced coaches from Kentuckiana Skills Academy.
The program will take place at the Owensboro Parks & Recreation Administrative Center gymnasium, located at 1530 McJohnson Avenue.
